The IDEAS Research Center of FABIZ aims to develop multidisciplinary research in the following fields:
I – Innovation and entrepreneurship;
D – Defense, public order and intelligence

S – Strategy
Our center aims at carrying out research projects along the following directions:
(1) Innovation and Entrepreneurship
a) Investigating the psychological perspective and decision-making processes in entrepreneurship;
b) Investigation of organizations’ strategies related to entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship;
c) Research into the behavior of start-ups and the factors contributing to their success and failure;
d) Research on entrepreneurial organizations of the family business type in Romania;
e) Research on public policies regarding entrepreneurship and its development;
f) Research on entrepreneurship from an inter- and multidisciplinary perspective (management, psychology, economics, natural sciences, engineering, etc.);
g) Research on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Romania and strategies for collaboration and co-creation with the participation of actors in the ecosystem;
h) Research on innovation strategies and innovation efficiency in public and private organizations;
i) Research on social entrepreneurship, social innovation strategies and impact investing;
j) Research on assessing the socio-economic impact of organizations;
k) Other topics of interest in line with the Center’s object of activity.
(2) Strategy, defense, public order and intelligence
a) Sociological studies on individual and collective proactive and reactive attitudes in times of stress generated by natural and/or provoked events;
b) Research on the mental and emotional impact of new technologies on the sociological behavior of groups or communities;
c) Analysis of individual and collective security in relation to fast unfolding events;
d) Research on combating disinformation and discrimination and disseminating accurate information to citizens;
(e) Communications and innovative communication systems in emergency, crisis, siege, mobilization or war;
(f) Research on cooperation between the private sector and defense industry;
g) Development of economic models and instruments to support the armaments industry;
h) Other topics of interest in accordance with the Center’s object of activity.
(3) Energy transition and sustainability
a) Market research and economic and econometric and econometric analysis on the techno-economic potential of different forms of energy in Romania, but also at regional and global level;
b) Research on macro- and microeconomic trajectories of decarbonization and transition of energy markets towards renewable and low environmental impact energy production;
c) Analysis on public and economic policies in the field of energy, energy efficiency, energy management systems, climate and energy integration;
d) Economic analyses on the potential for emission reductions from innovative energy solutions as well as from the implementation of nature-based energy-economic solutions;
e) Analyses on the potential and performance of economic actors in the field of energy transition and towards a low-emission economy, as well as on the results of the implementation of regulatory requirements in the field of non-financial performance (Environment, Social, Governance – ESG);
f) Fundamental and applied research in areas such as energy entrepreneurship and energy transition, public policies in the field of integrated approach to energy and climate change, economic relations based on energy diplomacy and cross-border energy cooperation.
g) Undertake sector-specific analyses of business sector interested in efficient decarbonization pathways, such as assessment of carbon footprint and opportunities to reduce it through energy consumption modelling and other specific actions, analysis of options and business models for sustainable emission reductions;
h) Analyses on new business models in the energy and related sectors, as well as on tools and frameworks needed to achieve climate neutrality by actors in the energy and energy-intensive industrial sectors;
i) Other topics of interest in line with the Center’s scope of work.
(4) Artificial intelligence, blockchain and digital economy
a) Theoretical studies on new artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms;
b) Development of more secure and efficient blockchain protocols;
c) Analysis of the impact of the digital economy on traditional markets;
d) Using artificial intelligence to identify trends and patterns in complex datasets;
e) Research on blockchain security and digital transactions;
f) Adapting AI technologies for specific domains such as medicine, agriculture, transportation, etc.;
g) Deployment of blockchain solutions in supply chains, finance, healthcare and other sectors;
h) Creating AI-based applications for different industries (healthcare, finance, transportation, etc.);
i) Developing blockchain solutions for financial transactions, digital identity or supply chains;
j) Creating platforms for the digital economy, such as digital marketplaces or payment systems;
k) Support start-ups to implement AI or blockchain-based solutions;
l) Creating labs for testing AI algorithms or blockchain solutions in real contexts;
m) Studies on the ethical impact of artificial intelligence and blockchain;
n) Development of private clouds for research and development;
o) Creation of databases and datasets for research;
p) Working with authorities to develop regulations of interest in the field;
q) Other topics of interest in line with the Center’s object of activity.
